BPM-Matlab: an open-source optical propagation simulation tool in MATLAB

We present the use of Douglas-Gunn Alternating Direction Implicit finite difference method for computationally efficient simulation electric field propagation through a wide variety optical fiber geometries. The can accommodate refractive index profiles arbitrary shape and is implemented in tool called BPM-Matlab. validate BPM-Matlab by comparing it to published experimental, numerical, theoretical data commercially available state-of-the-art software. It user-friendly, fast, open-source. has broad scope applications modeling fibers diverse fields such as imaging, communication, material processing, remote sensing.
